The Silent Time

One- sixth of the new year has
passed in silence
on this blog.

Not, of course, in my life.
I told someone that I had nothing to say,
but that isn't really true.
There are just some things that seem to have captured my attention and have taken my coherent thoughts from me.

The Hope of Spring

The sun is doing its best
to melt the remnants of snow.

Jackets are left behind
with the declaration
that it's in the 50's

and         that         means         it            is          HOT!

Temperature is Relative

One week ago, we had 4-6 inches of snow.

Homeschool co-op was cancelled, public and private schools were cancelled or delayed, and we were hunkered down inside a "kinda warm" house.

It was so very cold outside and the wind was blowing the snow into drifts.
Then on Saturday, the kids had a blast playing in the snow.

Let the Cold stay Outside

today is a cold, blustery day that conjures up images of Winnie the Pooh

the sky in the north has been very dark... promising more of the same

the trees bend and the snowflakes swirl with no place to land

that's all outside.....where it should be....

Inside there are candles glowing and hot chili simmering.....

children laughing and scuffling and....arguing???

and a sore throat is throbbing....and body aching.....and mood is darkening......

no.

not here.
not inside.

let the cold winds blow outside.......keep the heart fires warm inside.......

as it should be

"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
